What is PTS?

PTS stands for Parcel Tracking System. It provides sellers with tracking updates for parcels shipped using Metapack's Delivery Manager.

It works by regularly feeding CSV files of the latest carrier tracking events to an SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) site.

We grant you unique access to this site so that you can download the tracking data to your own systems, e.g. CRM or analytics tools.

How can it help me?

The parcel tracking data generated by PTS allows you to:

  • Notify customers of their current parcel statuses.

  • Respond to “Where is my order?” queries.

  • Spot potential delivery issues.

  • Analyse delivery success.

  • Profile carrier performance.

What are the key features?

  • Upload of frequent tracking event data in CSV format to a secure SFTP site.

  • Configurable upload interval (15, 30 or 60 minutes).

  • Updates for all parcel statuses or only those in which you are interested (e.g. "Out for delivery" and "Delivered").

  • Updates for the carriers, services and warehouses that you choose.

Getting Started

You first need to:

  1. Ensure that Delivery Manager is configured correctly.

  2. Contact your Account Manager to agree on pricing and confirm an amended contract.

  3. Raise a ticket with Metapack Support to configure your SFTP access and PTS feed.

  4. Integrate the file structure into your CRM and other systems.
