Return on Demand API
The Return on Demand API allows you to generate return labels through simple API calls. This means you can build return features in your applications.
For example, features that allow:
-
Customers to create their own returns labels through your eCommerce experiences.
-
Customer service teams to create returns labels through the CRM as an RMA process.
Note
You can only create Returns Labels for carriers with returns services that are available on your Metapack shipping plan.
If you’re a Metapack Shipping customer, the Return on Demand API allows you to:
-
Create, allocate and print carrier compliant returns labels.
-
Create manifests for return shipments.
To work correctly you will need to ensure:
-
All related warehouses, carriers and services are configured in Metapack Delivery Manager.
-
You specify the return carrier service you require.
-
The address fields are reversed (Receiptient is swapped with Retailer shipping address).
-
You specify “Pickup" transaction type only for returns that include integrated pickup request.
-
You specify "Delivery" for all other types of returns (drop-off returns, collection returns without pickup request and generic returns that combine the two options).
-
You provide the mandatory returns label data, including the recipient’s name, order number, weight and dims and the consignment value.
Labels in a Box
Labels in a Box allows retailers to create a return label (or multiple labels) for inclusion in their outbound shipments for their end customers to then be able to use to return items later.
Note
