Trade Lane

A 'trade lane' describes a specific type of parcel traffic and is a composite of one or more of the following:

  1. Origin warehouse (mandatory)

  2. Destination market (optional)

  3. Carrier (optional)

  4. Carrier service (optional).

It defines a specific parcel route, e.g.

In the above example, the 'trade lane' is a combination of the United Kingdom warehouse, GBR market, and carrier Global Co. Logistics Limited. You can then narrow it down to a particular carrier service as required:

Note

It is possible to expand and collapse any of the composite parts by selecting the + and – buttons that appear when you hover over the Warehouse, Market and Carrier column headers.

For example, to view the Services in a trade lane, expand the associated Carrier by selecting the + button:

You can also hover over the Warehouse, Carrier and Service column headers and select an Ascending or Descending sort of the data, or else a sort in either Data source or Alphabetical order, e.g.

When you hover over a selected trade lane, additional options are displayed, e.g.

For certain reports, e.g. the Service Level report, there is a drill through option when you hover over the trade lane, e.g.

Clicking on this allows you to view individual parcels.
